Digicel Cayman Chooses Ignition’s Virtual Office Cloud Solution For The Local Small And Medium Size Business Market

Grand Cayman, August 5th 2010:  Digicel Cayman will be broadening its business solutions portfolio with Ignition’s Virtual Office Cloud (IVOC™).

This service is primarily targeted at the small to medium sized business and will allow companies to access the latest software and run their own applications - without incurring the cost of buying and maintaining expensive equipment; or worrying about software upgrades and security issues; or having to become IT experts.

The Digicel IVOC Cloud computing solution features the latest version of Microsoft Office™, Exchange™ and SharePoint ™ as well as hosting the clients’ core applications such as accounting or industry-specific core applications.   Disaster recovery is by default built into the architecture of the service.  All the applications are housed in a secure off-shore “bunker”, so that they can be securely accessed from anywhere at any time, via a simple Internet connection.

Victor Corcoran, CEO of Digicel Cayman, stated “We are always looking to ensure that our customer benefit from the best value, the best network and the best service. The introduction of the Ignition IVOC™ solution as part of Digicel’s portfolio will provide customers with a ’one-stop shop’ for all their communication and computing needs.  IVOC™ is a key product that will help our customers to stay competitive, whilst at the same time benefiting from increased service levels.”

Graham Pearson, CEO of the Ignition Group, commented that: “The cost savings are significant.  The customer only pays for what they use on a monthly basis - with zero capital expenditure and no “hidden” support costs.  The move toward Cloud computing is rapid and is a perfect solution for Cayman.  While the impact of recession is still being felt and every dollar counts, Cloud computing is an easy way to avoid upgrading or replacing hardware and software. Organizations can realize immediate savings and drive down their operating costs.”
