DIGICEL ANNOUNCES PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR EMPLOYEES

Tuesday, December 9th – Cayman: Digicel Cayman today unveiled details of the Digicel Professional Development Program to assist employees in furthering their education and providing them with the necessary skills to advance their career within the multi-national company.

 

One of the first participants in the program is Crystal Gomez, who has played an integral role in the Digicel Cayman marketing team over the past four years. Digicel is supporting Crystal with a US$6,000 donation to her study fund as she begins a degree in Marketing and International business at Huron University in London.

 

Speaking at the launch of the new program, Digicel CEO, Victor Corcoran, said, “Digicel believes in providing its employees with the necessary support to further their education and develop their skills. We have a fantastic team at Digicel Cayman, and while Crystal will be greatly missed as she moves to London next month/year, we hope that she returns to Digicel at the end of her studies, bringing with her the valuable experience she will have gained during her three years in London.”

 

Crystal Gomez said of her upcoming return to school and departure from Digicel, “After almost four years working in the Marketing Department in Digicel, I am delighted to have this opportunity and support from Digicel to further my education.

 

“Working for Digicel made me realize how much I loved the world of marketing and by having this opportunity to further develop my skills, I hope to return to Digicel with my degree and further my career within the company.”

 

Crystal is the second participant of the Digicel Professional Development Program. Michelle Minzette from being the first. Over the coming years, Digicel will continue to commit towards the professional development of its employees.
